Great Summer Fun Ideas For the Whole Family in New Jersey!

Summer is in full swing and there’s nothing more wonderful than having a day of fun or heading out on a nice long vacation with your family! If you’re like me, and needing some fresh new ideas, I found a great resource for 149 of them! Yes, that’s right… 149 ideas!…and guess what?! They are all in one state! This one-stop vacation site is called FunNewJersey.com!

If you live in the New York City area, then New Jersey is basically your backyard. They are a hop, skip and a jump away from anywhere in the North East and just a road trip or plane ride away for others. Growing up I used to go to New Jersey a lot, but I never even knew about most of these! It was certainly an eye-opener for me and now I have travel-lust!

FunNewJersey.com has resources for anyone looking to have a great time! I am so glad I partnered with them so that I can share with you their attractions for adventurous souls, culture enthusiasts, kid-friendly fun, romantic ideas, free things, and so much more!

I love activities that the whole family can enjoy and here are my Top 5!

1) Go River Tubing and Explore an Island – Nothing sounds more relaxing than floating down a river in your own colorful tube, getting a bite to eat, and even exploring an island!

2) A Theme Park on a Lake (Tomahawk Waterpark by Lake Hopatcong ) – What kid doesn’t love a theme park? This will be sure to please with mini golf, water slides, ping pong - all on a lake! And your wallet will agree since it’s like Six Flags, but it will cost you a lot less! Perfect for young kids up to teenagers and runs from May-September.

3) Dine Like You’re in France at a Monet-Inspired Café – Ok, so maybe this is more for the adults, but kids need to eat too!…hehe…and the scenery here looks beautiful! The kids will enjoy the pathways, pond, sculpture garden, and more! There’s a Kids' Menu with Cheeseburgers and other goodies for the little ones!

4) See the Great Falls - This powerful waterfall is second biggest in volume east of the Mississippi! No need to travel to Niagara Falls, check out this wondrous site right before Paterson, NJ!

5) Whale & Dolphin Watch Cruise – Get excited and see who can spot the first dolphin or whale in your family! Cape May Whale Watcher offers many diverse cruises to choose from; including the Sunset Dolphin Watch, Whale & Dolphin Weekend Watch and the Prime Rib Dinner Cruise. Dinner and a cruise, sign me up!

It was truly difficult picking only 5! I also love horses, and you can even ride a horse on the beach(!!), visit an aquarium, get a fun ice cream cone character for dessert, go zip-lining, hike, and so much more! There are endless opportunities for fun and adventure, whatever your style!

What would you choose?!
