I received these items at no cost to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
Children love to play, learn and explore. Watching them do so is quite the rewarding experience for a parent. Especially when you show them how to do something, and then as quickly as you blink your eyes, they seem to have it all figured out. It always amazes me how fast my daughter understands how to use something new or figure it out all on her own. I am always looking for new ways to expand her mind and it certainly doesn’t hurt if those ways are fun! That’s why I am proud to partner with BRIO and tell you all about their wonderful line of educational, fun and quality toys!
BRIO is a Swedish toy brand that was founded in 1884 (over 130 years ago!) and is represented in over 30 countries! For their amazing longevity in the toy business, it tells a lot about their high quality items and that they are a company that is here to stay! Another really interesting fact is that BRIO has been a Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden since the 1940s! Wow, to think my daughter is playing with toys that the royals play(ed) with is really cool. There even is a “By Appointment To His Majesty The King Of Sweden” printed on the bottom of all their toys. Pretty neat!
I am really excited to tell you about the amazing toys I have had the chance to review with my daughter. We received the Motion Wobbler, High Chair Toy, Horse, and Countryside Horse Set. I love the fact that from 2014, 100% of their wooden toys are made from FSC certified wood. This means that all the wood used at BRIO is traceable and that it originates from responsibly managed forests. It also guarantees that the raw materials do not come from illegal logging sources. I appreciate the fact that BRIO is doing their part to be responsible for a sustainable future and that they are always working to improve their environmental performance. Way to go BRIO!
The
Motion Wobbler is a fun little toy that is perfect for ages 6 months and up. No matter how you push it over, it keeps coming back up. My daughter was amazed at this fact. She would even push it over and hold it down, thinking that would surely do the trick. But when she let go and it popped back up, she giggled in surprise! She then picked it up and looked at the bottom of the toy like there was some magic thing underneath that was causing this to happen. There is also a ball at the top that your child can spin and play with. My sweetie loves to play with this toy and randomly tries to push it over during the day. This toy is sure to keep your little one guessing.
The
High Chair Toy is another great toy for ages 6 months and up and is perfectly entertaining. I was very pleased to see the sturdy suction cup at the base. My daughter has had two other high chair toys and their suction cups were terrible. Those toys would fall over with any small amount of force and leave me to constantly fix them, but not this one! This one stays put when you want it to, and the tab makes it simple to remove. The adorable painted wooden blocks feature a shape on one side and the other has a picture of another BRIO toy, such as their bumblebee pull along. My daughter loves to point out all the different shapes as she spins the toy, and especially loves the bee design. As soon as she sees it, she stops it and excitedly says… Bee!!! As the toy is spun the wooden blocks lightly hit each other to make a sound. This toy would be perfect for those early feeding days when you child is just starting to try foods and wants to get into everything. My daughter always needed to have her hands busy (and still does a lot of the time) so this high chair toy is the perfect distraction. When her hands were busy, her mouth would open. This would make those feeding times a breeze!

The
Horse pull along is adorable and was made in celebration of their 130 years in business! It was inspired by the first toy ever sold by BRIO and is the definition of timeless fun! My sweetheart loves to pull this horse all around the house. Down the hall, around the kitchen table and through the living room. This horse has been everywhere and is certainly getting a lot of love. The craftsmanship is amazing on all of their toys, but something stands out to me about this one. It’s just so cute and with its wooden design it really feels like it will stand the test of time. The wheels glide so nicely and the head bobs up and down when taken for a stroll. The length of the string is actually fitting to this toy. My daughter doesn’t have to bend down to take it for a walk and it’s not so close to her that’s she’s tripping over it. Well thought out design and is a great energy buster for ages 12 months and up.
The Countryside Horse Set (no longer sold -
The Animal Farm Set is the closest replacement) is the quintessential toy for imaginative fun! The wooden railway is a smooth ride for the train, which goes up and over rocks and back down to the horse’s shed. The horse can be given a “shower” and you can take it to the train, which actually has a horse transport with a foldout ramp! Too cute! You can even have the person ride the horse and jump over the hurdles and around the trees. The train is remarkably powerful for something of its size and even glides over our area rug when my daughter decides it’s time to go “off-roading”. I can see my daughter’s wheels spinning with all the ideas she wants to explore with this set. Seeing my daughter play with this toy shows me how much she has grown. Even though she isn’t 3 yet (the recommended age), she does remarkably well with all its many features. This will be the perfect toy for her to learn about imaginative play. 1 AA battery is needed for the train.
BRIO makes playtime fun and educational not only for our little ones, but us parents too. Seeing them enjoy learning and figuring out how to use something for the first time, is such a wonderful bonding time for everyone involved. By educating and encouraging our little ones development, they will keep amazing us with their abilities and growth. I look forward to these moments in overflowing amounts!
