Delectable Chocolate-Covered Oreos with Strawberries!

Making a dessert that is appealing to your eye and taste buds doesn’t have to be a time-consuming effort. In fact, this delicious treat took less than 30 minutes to make from start to finish. And only a short list of grocery items are needed... score!

Items you will need:

Semi-Sweet Morsels
Premier White Morsels
Strawberries
Canola Oil
Oreos

To melt the chocolate, I used the double boiler technique. I set up two double boilers and placed one cup of the chocolate morsels in one bowl, and one cup of the white morsels in the other. Then I measured one tsp of canola oil and poured it into each bowl. Stir these ingredients together to thin the chocolate and help coat the Oreos.

Once your chocolate has completely melted, place an Oreo in the bowl and turn the cookie in the chocolate until it is fully coated. Then carefully lift the Oreo out of the bowl at the edges, thus preserving the chocolate and place it on a cookie sheet. Repeat this step for the desired number of Oreos you would like to make.

Next, cut your strawberries in half and place them on top of the Oreos. The chocolate is nice and
warm at this stage, so the strawberries will easily settle in place when you press them down.

The last step is to drizzle the chocolate on top. I like to use the opposite chocolate for the drizzle than what I used to coat the Oreo. I think it makes for a nice contrast and a little extra flavor. You might want to add a dash more of the canola oil to the left over chocolate so that it will drip off a spoon more easily. Once you are done, place the tray of desserts in the fridge to preserve the strawberries and keep them from running.

And there you have it, a delicious dessert in no time! Who says you have to spend hours in the kitchen to make a gourmet-looking dessert?! This way, it just looks like you did.
