Make Daylight Savings Time A Smooth Transition With The Baby Sleep Site!

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

Daylight Savings Time can do quite the number on our internal clock. Whether it’s “springing forward” or “falling back”, it’s never been something I have been fond of. Now that I have a little toddler, Daylight Savings Time has been taken to a whole new level. With my desire to be prepared this year, I decided to do some research. I found some valuable tips-and-tricks to help not only our family, but hopefully yours as well!

I have partnered with The Baby Sleep Site to help families through this upcoming transition. The Baby Sleep Site has been featured in The Huffington Post, Parents, NBC News and more! They have helped over 30,000 families get the sleep they deserve. Now that’s impressive!

The Baby Sleep Site offers a variety of packages to help families struggling to get a good night’s rest. They offer everything from their Express Sleep Plan to a Members Area which offer great resources for people to use to either prepare for DST or for getting their baby or toddler back on track after DST. They also have personalized sleep consultations, perfect for tailoring a plan specifically to your family’s needs. Plus you can find free resources, such as sample schedules and e-books (shown below), right on their website!

Reading through their articles, I came across 4 Tips to Prevent The End of Daylight Savings Time From Ruining Your Child’s Sleep. This article is very informative and there is one tip that I would like to elaborate on.

Let’s say your child normally wakes up at 6am in the morning. With the upcoming time change, their internal clock will help to wake them up at the new time of 5am! Oh no! It’s completely natural, as no one is going to completely adjust to a new time change overnight. Remember, 5am was 6am yesterday.

A way I like to help my daughter to adjust to new schedules is by changing her normal schedule by 15 minutes every day or two. I continue with this pattern until I have reached the desired time. This tip would also work if you are planning on going on a long vacation, travel for work, or are moving to a new time zone.

By moving your child’s naps, mealtimes, and bedtime by 15 minutes they really won’t make a fuss or even notice the difference. Doing a little each day will help to re-adjust them to this new time and give everyone a little peace of mind and more sleep too!

When I get less sleep than I need (and everyone I know), we can all be a little rough around the edges. The same goes for our little ones. They are susceptible to all the same things we are, and in fact this year, I am going to work on adjusting my schedule right along with my daughter’s so we can do this together!

My family and I are looking to make a smooth transition into Daylight Savings Time. I hope my article along with the information and services found on The Baby Sleep Site, will help you and your family to an easy transition as well and many restful night’s sleep.

  2. This would be amazing! I have a 2 year old boy that still has trouble sleeping. My husband and I are currently trying for baby #2 and this would help so much with a toddler with sleeping problems and a newborn.
