The Freedom to Multitask: Why Wearable Breast Pumps Are a Game Changer for Modern Moms

newborn baby, breast pump for new moms, wearable breast pumps

There was a time when conventional electric breast pumps were considered to be the pinnacle of breast pump technology, but not anymore! Regular electric pumps need either a wall outlet or a battery and both of these are not ideal for on-the-go moms. Modern moms need something that suits their lifestyle because motherhood today is a juggling act between feeding schedules, household responsibilities, and career goals. This is why wearable breast pumps are a game changer – they are a hands-free, portable, and efficient solution that enables you to multitask without compromising your baby's nourishment or your comfort.

Benefits of Wearable Breast Pumps for Modern Moms

Discretion
The most significant advantage of wearable breast pumps is the discretion they provide. Gone are the days of noisy breast pumps drawing attention. Modern wearable breast pumps utilize noise-reduction technologies so that they emit a barely audible hum. This discretion is particularly beneficial in professional or public settings so that you can pump confidently without attracting undue attention. There are plenty of wearable pumps in the market but not all of them are equally silent or equally good. This is why you should check the best wearable breast pumps that have been vetted by independent experts to help you decide which one is best suited to your needs.

Comfort
Any mom from the 90s will attest to the discomfort caused by conventional breast pumps with their painfully rigid plastic flanges. On the other hand, wearable pumps feature soft silicone flanges that mold gently to your body. This design not only enhances comfort but also creates a better seal, improving suction efficiency. Furthermore, these pumps are lightweight and designed to fit naturally within a bra, making them suitable for extended wear.

Easy Cleaning
Conventional pumps contain several parts that are not easy to clean which can make this task frustrating and time-consuming. One of the toughest things to clean is the tubing which comes with its own thin cleaning brush. According to FDA recommendations, all parts of the pump that come in contact with milk need to be rinsed as soon as possible and then each piece needs to be washed separately with warm water and then thoroughly rinsed once again with hot water after every use. Most wearable breast pumps do not have tubing, and they also have fewer components which makes it a breeze to clean them.

Freedom
Regular electric pumps need either a wall outlet or a battery and both of these are not ideal for on-the-go moms. The pumps that use a wall outlet require you to stay put while you pump while the conventional portable ones have comparatively large batteries. When using a conventional pump, you need to find a private space where you can pump but a wearable pump fits right into your bra so that you can use them as you go about your day. You can run errands or even exercise while you pump.

Customizable Settings
Unlike conventional pumps that only have a few basic settings for suction and speed, wearable breast pumps are integrated with apps so that you can fine-tune the settings so that they are perfect for you. These pumps also have two phases – stimulation and expression which are based on your baby’s natural sucking pattern. Research shows that this is more efficient and comfortable and increases milk output. Many wearable pump apps also track your output, and you can also set reminders for when you need to pump again which is very useful when you’ve not yet established your pumping routine.

Cost-Effective
When wearable breast pumps first hit the market, most of the models were priced at almost $1,000. However, with newer manufacturers entering the market, the price has fallen significantly and today, you can get a good wearable pump for $200 or less. Furthermore, since the newer pumps are so efficient, you will not need to invest in any other pumping devices. Some insurance plans partially cover the cost which will further reduce your out-of-pocket expenses, but you will need to check your plan to know how much is covered.

Common Eye Conditions in Children: Statistics and Insights

baby eyes, babies eye, eye health, eye conditions, children eye health

The importance of maintaining good eye health in children cannot be overstated. Their visual well-being plays a vital role in their overall development, academic performance, and quality of life. Unfortunately, various eye conditions can affect children, ranging from common refractive errors to more complex conditions. Understanding the prevalence, risk factors, and potential consequences of these conditions is essential for early detection and proactive management.

Let’s take a look at some of the eyewear industry statistics regarding common eye conditions in children. It’s important to know these statistics, so parents, educators and healthcare professionals will be more aware about the impact of these conditions.

1. Refractive Errors

Refractive errors, such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism, are common eye conditions in children. According to the American Optometric Association, around 25% of school-aged children have some form of refractive error. These conditions can affect a child's ability to see clearly and may lead to difficulties in reading, learning, and overall academic performance if left uncorrected. Regular eye examinations are essential for early detection and timely correction of refractive errors in children.

2. Amblyopia (Lazy Eye)

Amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye, is a condition where the brain favors one eye over the other, leading to reduced vision in the weaker eye. It affects approximately 2-5% of children. If left untreated, amblyopia can result in permanent vision loss. Early detection and intervention, such as patching and vision therapy, can help with lazy eye correction. This can help correct the condition and improve vision. Regular eye screenings during early childhood can help identify and address amblyopia at its earliest stages.

3. Strabismus (Crossed or Misaligned Eyes)

Strabismus is characterized by an eye misalignment, where the eyes do not focus on the same point simultaneously. This condition affects around 2-4% of children. Strabismus can lead to impaired depth perception, eye strain, and difficulty with eye coordination. Timely intervention, including eye exercises, glasses, or, in severe cases, surgery, can help align the eyes and improve visual function. Routine eye examinations are vital for early detection and management of strabismus.

4. Color Vision Deficiency (Color Blindness)

Color vision deficiency, or color blindness, affects approximately 8% of boys and 0.5% of girls. This condition impairs the ability to perceive and differentiate certain colors. It is most commonly inherited and caused by a genetic mutation. While color vision deficiency is generally a lifelong condition, early diagnosis can help children understand and adapt to their color perception differences. Educators and parents can provide appropriate support to ensure optimal learning experiences for children with color vision deficiency.

5. Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)

Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, the thin membrane covering the front surface of the eye and the inner surface of the eyelids. It is often caused by viral or bacterial infections, allergies, or irritants. Conjunctivitis is highly contagious and commonly affects children. According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, about 5 million cases of conjunctivitis occur in the United States each year in children under the age of 17. Proper hygiene practices, avoiding touching the eyes, and timely treatment can help manage and prevent the spread of conjunctivitis.

6. Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP)

Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) is an eye disease that primarily affects premature infants. It occurs when abnormal blood vessels develop in the retina, potentially leading to vision loss or blindness. ROP affects around 14,000-16,000 premature infants each year in the United States. Prompt diagnosis and treatment by an ophthalmologist specializing in ROP are essential to minimize the risk of visual impairment. Regular eye examinations for premature infants can help detect and manage ROP effectively.

7. Retinal Disorders

Retinal disorders, such as retinoblastoma and retinal dystrophies, can occur in children and have varying degrees of severity. Retinoblastoma is a rare form of eye cancer that primarily affects young children. Retinal dystrophies, such as retinitis pigmentosa, are a group of genetic disorders that cause progressive degeneration of the retina. Early detection through routine eye exams is crucial for timely diagnosis and intervention in these conditions. Treatment options range from chemotherapy and radiation therapy for retinoblastoma to genetic counseling and low vision aids for retinal dystrophies.

8. Ptosis (Drooping Eyelid)

Ptosis is a condition characterized by the drooping of one or both eyelids. It can occur in children due to congenital factors or acquired conditions. Congenital ptosis is present at birth and may be caused by a weak or underdeveloped levator muscle, which is responsible for lifting the eyelid. Acquired ptosis can occur later in childhood due to factors such as trauma, muscle weakness, or neurological conditions. Ptosis can affect a child's vision, obstructing their visual field. Surgical intervention may be necessary to correct significant cases of ptosis and improve both vision and appearance.

Awareness of common eye conditions in children is crucial for early detection, intervention, and proper eye care. By understanding the statistics and insights surrounding these conditions, parents, educators, and healthcare professionals can prioritize regular eye examinations, promote visual health, and provide appropriate support to ensure optimal vision and well-being for children.

Ensuring Your Children a Bright Future with Life Insurance

mom and child, mom walking infant, mom walking baby

When you have kids, there are so many different things to plan for. Whether it be for a new baby and you need to put their nursery together, or packing your child’s belongings to go away to college. There are many milestones along the way with lots of happy tears and moments of joy.

Sometimes, we can get caught up in life’s everyday routine and busyness, especially when there is always so much going on. But that's exactly why I wanted to write this article. We all need that friendly little reminder sometimes... me included!

One of the most important things you can do as a parent is set up a life insurance policy. This will give you piece of mind knowing that you have ensured your children a solid start to their future. Even though no amount of money can replace what you can give them as their parent, this is your way of providing for them no matter what should happen.

It's disheartening to learn that over 1/3 of parents with children under the age of 18 don't have a life insurance policy, according to CNBC. That’s a lot of people! If something should happen to you, who would raise your children? Perhaps your parents? Are they retired? If so, they would definitely benefit from a life insurance policy to help ensure they have the means to care for your children on perhaps an otherwise tight budget.

Maybe your interest is peaked now and your thinking about purchasing a policy, but don't know how much you should get. There is a general rule of thumb when it comes to purchasing life insurance. Ideally, you should look into getting a policy that is equivalent of 7 to 10 times your income. However, details of how much and what kind of insurance will depend on your family’s needs and future goals.

Future goals can vary from what type of college you would like your child to attend and even a general overall lifestyle you want them to have. There are many things to consider once you find out your pregnant.

No one wants to think about these upsetting “If’s”, but knowing that you have taken care of this crucial part of your children’s future will certainly give you a sigh of relief. It's a big item that you can cross off your to-do list and you can rest easy knowing you did all that you can for your children.

Tips For Buying Baby Clothing

As a new mom, it can be difficult to know what to buy for your baby. Will you have everything you need for those first few weeks and months? Sometimes a newborn size might not be suitable if you deliver a baby that’s bigger. There are a lot of things to consider when shopping for baby clothing, so here are some helpful tips that you might find useful.

Get A Selection Of Age Ranges

A good age range selection is always going to come in handy when it comes to buying baby clothes. In reality, you don’t know what clothing is going to be needed for your baby until they arrive and so buying only newborn clothing is going to put you at a slight disadvantage.

With that being said, buy different age ranges, even sizes for over six months. It’s helpful to try and have clothing that will fit your baby up until their first birthday. That sounds like a lot of clothing but it sure will come in handy and will reduce the amount of stress and effort you have to do throughout that first twelve months. Having the clothing all there and ready to go is certainly useful!

Take Advantage Of Sales

Sales are an important opportunity and so where you can, make sure you invest in some trendy baby clothing. Look out for those chances throughout the pregnancy to shop for clothes that are going to be discounted. Whether they’re for newborns or 8-12 months, it’s worth saving yourself some money in the long-run.

Sales are a great way to save money and put that extra on other necessities for you or your family in general.

Think About Seasons

The seasons are something that can slip your mind when you’re in shopping mode for baby clothes. It’s always good to remember what time of year the baby will be born and therefore how you shop so that you have enough clothes to see you through each season. If it’s a baby due towards the end of the year, then you might find more winter warmers are needed depending on where you live. Always factor in the seasons because you want to make sure your baby is kept nice and warm or cool depending on the weather.

Don’t Forget The Accessories

Accessories are a must and so when it comes to your baby clothing shops, make sure you throw in a few accessories each time. From little booties to bibs and dummies, all these are critical for making new parent life a lot easier. Whether you have the experience or not, the accessories can come in handy for keeping your baby stylish but comfortable - which is obviously the most important part.

Buying baby clothes is always good to do before the arrival of a baby, even if you’ve already got quite a lot that’s been given to you already. Making sure you’re well prepared is better than being under prepared after all! Use these tips to make sure that happens.

10 Things To Consider When Preparing Your Baby's Room

nursery, nursery decor, newborn room, newborn baby, babys room, decorate babys room, how to decorate a baby's room, baby furniture,

Preparing for your little one to be born is an exciting journey but is also bound to bring some stress with it. To reduce the stress, try and get things ready as far in advance as everything you prepare, is one less thing to think about after the baby is born (After all, this is when you have to start thinking about thinking like looking at newborn bathing guide, getting more sleep or capturing all the best moments on camera). To help prepare you for your baby, I have put together a guide of 10 things to consider when preparing your baby’s room. Look through the different steps and choose the ones which are best for you. Even the smallest of changes can make the biggest of differences.

Paint

The color of the paint that you are going to use in your baby's new room, will help decide other interior factors, like what furniture to pick. If you are going to find out what sex your baby is before you are born, you can be more flexible with the colors you are choosing. If you decide against finding out the gender, then make sure you paint the room in a neutral color, this way it doesn’t matter if you have a boy or girl. For inspiration on baby rooms, make sure you take a look at Pinterest or Instagram and see how others are decorating your rooms. One tip is to try and get the new room painted as far in advance as possible. The last thing you will want is the strong smell of paint when your baby is trying to get to sleep in that room.

Flooring

If you have the budget and are aiming to completely redo your baby’s room, then flooring should definitely be considered. Do you have an idea of what type of flooring you will opt for? Laminate or carpet maybe? Both have their benefits so you won’t go too wrong in picking either of them. Carpets allow you to be a bit more creative in the room adding bright colorful colors, whereas wooden flooring tends to be more neutral and potentially less in your face. When it comes to the costs, they both come out similar, allowing you the flexibility of deciding which one is best for the room and the overall feel of your property.

Will You Be Decorating the Ceiling?

When you think about it carefully, a baby spends most of the time on their back looking up to the ceiling. Working on those lines, this opens the door to you being able to decorate the ceiling to help bring a relaxing feel for your newborn. If you are going with a theme for the room, then link the ceiling with this theme. If there isn’t a theme, then consider choosing a soothing color that when your baby looks at it, it makes them feel at ease. If you don’t fancy painting the ceiling in a pattern, that's also ok, a fresh lick of paint of the same color will just make the room look fresher.

Add Some Art To The Wall

When walking into the room, are there a lot of blank spaces on the wall? If yes, then hanging some art of photos to break up the white space could be a great idea. If you have any photos of you being pregnant, why not get those printed and put on the wall? If you prefer not to have any photos of you, then why not clear a space that you can add photos of your baby to when he or her is born. Alternatively, why not look at some baby friendly artwork that will add some color to the room. You can get some really nice designs that will have another dynamic to the room.

Make Sure You Have Some Storage Options

When you have a newborn, you are always surprised at just how much stuff they have, need and require. The amount of items that you have to get slowly adds up, and most of the time you get stuck in where to put them. When choosing your furniture or setting up the room, try and fit some storage solutions that you can keep things in. Don’t overdo the storage so that it affects the overall look of the room, instead be savvy. Create places where you can store things without people knowing it’s a storage solution and without making the room look messy. Baskets and shelving units can always be a great help and don’t cost a lot to purchase or install, and in most cases you can install them yourself.

Wash All Your Babies Clothes

Before your little one is born, try and wash all their newly bought clothes and prepare them in the room. Not only will this make them cleaner, remove all the germs from the shop and add your own smell to them. It will also get you excited about your new one arriving and having you counting down the days as you fold them up and put them away. By washing the clothes, you can also refresh your mind at what you have and purchase anything that is missing. You will never have too many baby clothes, and you will often find that friends and family members will buy them as a present as well.

Choosing Your Furniture

One of the most important things when getting your baby’s room sorted, is the furniture. This is the most exciting bit, choosing the cot, wardrobes, baby bedside sleeper and any other furniture piece that you want in the room. Try and do this and give yourself enough time for it to be ordered and delivered well in advance of your newborn arriving. This will allow you some leeway to set it up, move it around and send it back if you don’t like it. If you don’t want to spend a lot on furniture, you can always ask your friends or family members if they have anything left over from when they had a baby. Often you will find as your baby grows, you’ll be giving away a lot of things.

Curtains or Blinds?

Anytime during the day your newborn may need a sleep and to be put in his or her cot. This could be during the day, when the sun is bright and shining through the window. The last thing you want is the sun beaming into the room keeping your little one up. To avoid this, make sure you have purchased some blinds or curtains that completely block out the light in that room. Not only that but you don’t want your baby overheating, which black out curtains or blinds are both very good at stopping. When it comes to deciding which to go for, they both have their pros and cons, what it comes down to is preference and which one you think will look best in the room.

Rug’s Instead Of New Flooring

If you don’t want to spend the money on new flooring, choosing a rug could be an alternative option. Rugs come in all shapes and sizes, allowing them to fit perfectly in any baby’s room. You can easily match the color and texture of your rug to the décor of the room and it doesn’t matter as much if something is spilt or damage is caused to it. If you have enough storage space, you can always purchase a couple of rugs and swap them around every couple of months to add a different feel to the room. There are so many different styles of rugs that you can always find one to suit any type of room.

Lighting

The lighting of your room is very important as you will be up at all times of the day to look after your newborn. The type of lights you use in the room will have a big impact on the overall feel of the interior. LED lighting and smart bulbs are a good option to go for as you can control them on your phone and set the colors that they show. This can help stop the lights from being too bright in the room when you are trying to put him or her to sleep. Also, LED lighting is more energy efficient and can last longer than your conventional bulbs.

Overall, there is plenty to think about when planning your newborns room. Try to plan your changes as far in advance as possible to reduce the amount of stress it brings. That said, also take your time and plan it out properly, you don’t want to rush choosing and putting the room together. You don’t have to spend a lot if you don’t want to, even the smallest of changes will make the room perfect for your little one.

What plans have you put in place for your baby’s room? Have you thought about any of the above? Let me know in the comment box below, I would love to hear from you.

Things To Keep In Mind When Visiting Singapore With A Baby!

This is a contributed post. I only share information that I find fun, informative, or helpful. Enjoy!

Finding the right travel destinations is tough when you have a baby. Most people stick to family friendly spots and they sometimes feel that they’re missing out on some of the more exotic places that they want to visit because they have to accommodate for the baby. But there are plenty of amazing destinations that are perfect for babies, so don’t be afraid to branch out a bit more.

Singapore is one of those destinations but people don’t usually consider it because they don’t think it’s suitable for family trips. The thing is, Singapore is incredibly clean and safe, making it perfect for babies, and there is such a wide range of things to see and do that you will have a great trip no matter what kind of travel experience you are looking for.

When traveling with a baby, forward planning is key. If Singapore is on your bucket list, these are some of the best tips for visiting with a baby.

Where To Stay

Finding the right place to stay is so important when traveling with babies and young children. Many parents find that managing their sleep schedule is one of the biggest challenges and that is a lot easier if you have a comfortable environment. When traveling with a baby, you also need to consider where you are going to change them and how you are going to heat up their milk etc.

Although there are some amazing luxury hotels in Singapore, it may be best to visit these when traveling without the kids. There are plenty of rooms for rent in Singapore, and having your own room with more facilities makes life easier. Trying to do everything in your hotel room can be a bit of a pain, so looking for a room in an apartment is usually a better option.

What To Eat

Parents are wary about traveling to Asia with babies because they are concerned about the food situation. The incredible cuisine is one of the best things about Singapore if you’re an adult, but the local food isn’t really suitable for babies. The good news is, you will easily be able to get hold of the same stuff that you find at home because there are plenty of Western supermarkets around. You will also find lots of restaurants serving European food alongside all of the local cuisine, so if you are traveling with young children that are a bit fussy about their food, you will be fine.

Attractions To Visit

Singapore is well known for its Michelin starred restaurants and fancy cocktail bars, but that’s not really what you’re looking for on a family trip. Luckily, there are plenty of places in Singapore that are ideal for babies.

The Botanical Gardens are filled with lots of amazing plants with peaceful lake areas to explore. Babies will love this mini jungle because there is so much color and stimulation for them, and it’s a nice relaxing walk for parents as well. There’s a restaurant at the end where you can stop for a bite to eat and there is also a small playground for children that are a bit older.

Lazarus Island is around half an hour from Singapore by ferry, and it’s the perfect place to visit if you want a relaxing day on the beach. There isn’t a huge amount there but if you are looking for beautiful white sands and clear waters, it’s a great spot. Spending a lot of time in a busy city can be quite overwhelming for babies (and parents), so it’s good to get away and have a chilled day on the beach during your trip.

Chinatown is definitely worth visiting if you want a different view of Singapore. The majority of the city is filled with modern skyscrapers but Chinatown gives you a more traditional experience. It’s very accessible with a buggy and babies will enjoy looking at all of the colorful temples. There are some great places to stop off and eat but in this more traditional area of Singapore, you might find it more difficult to find suitable food for the baby, so bring something along with you.

The only real downside to visiting Singapore with a baby is the long flight. But if you plan ahead and make sure that you keep them entertained, you should be fine. It’s also a good idea to keep them up for a while before you set off so they are more likely to sleep on the plane. Once there, follow these simple tips and you will have an amazing trip to Singapore with your baby.

4 Common Aches & Pains to Expect During Pregnancy

This is a Guest Post. I only share information that I find fun, informative, or helpful. Enjoy!

Women experience a variety of symptoms throughout pregnancy. Fatigue and morning sickness is common, but it is also normal to experience aching or discomfort throughout the body. Learn more below about the main types of pain or tension you can expect while you are pregnant. With this information in mind, you can create a plan to relieve your symptoms. Having an awareness of each sensation will also help you know when it is time to talk to your doctor.

Lower Back Pain
During your pregnancy, discuss any unexpected pains with your doctor. This is especially true if you feel the sensations in your lower body. While every symptom should be taken seriously, many are no reason for alarm. A common type of ache and pain, while you are pregnant, is lower back pain. Some of the most common causes of lower back pain in pregnancy include weight gain and posture changes. While extra weight is necessary to support a growing baby, it can make the spine and lumbar area more susceptible to discomfort. A large uterus and a shift in alignment throughout your body can cause you to stand, walk, or sit differently.

For some women, hormone changes are to blame. Ligaments naturally loosen in the pelvic area during pregnancy to help make way for the baby, but they can also cause the spine to become more unstable than usual. It is also possible for stress, worry, or anxiety to lead to spasms in the back.

To help relieve your lower back pain and cramps, stay active. Stretching and low-impact exercises can help to keep your core strong and your muscles limber. If you are worried or experiencing a low mood, try seeing a counselor or therapist. Other possible strategies include heat therapy, laser light therapy belts, and chiropractic care. Each of these therapies should be safe for women to use on their back, but it is important to research your options and talk to your doctor if you have any questions.

Leg Cramps
According to What to Expect, cramping in the legs is a common symptom in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Some women experience them more at night. It is not entirely known why they occur, but obstetricians think it could be due to fatigue in the legs from carrying extra weight. Compression of the blood vessels could also possibly lead to tension and cramping.

Some doctors prescribe vitamins and minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, to help with the discomfort. Others chalk it up to pregnancy-related hormones and advise strategies for relieving aching muscles and relaxing your lower body. Stretching your legs, ankles, and toes can help to end cramps and reduce sharp pain. You may also find relief from a cold compress. Find an ice pack or a bag of frozen vegetables, then wrap it in a towel. Place it on the area for 10-20 minutes at a time to help stop spasms.

Headaches
There are many reasons for headaches during pregnancy. In the first trimester, a rise in hormones and blood volume are often to blame for making your head hurt. Some women also get them in the first few weeks from caffeine withdrawal. Throughout your pregnancy, watch your stress levels. While Healthline says that some stress is normal, extreme levels of worry or anxiety can possibly lead to complications throughout pregnancy, infancy, or childhood. At the same time, stress can also contribute to the development of migraines and head pain.

Make sure you drink plenty of water, which will help to prevent dehydration-related headaches. Other ways to prevent symptoms include getting enough sleep and making sure you eat healthy meals and snacks. If you still do not know why your head is hurting, consider your posture and spinal alignment. Talk to your OB-GYN or midwife to see which treatments may be available for headaches related to upper back pain.

Round Ligament Pain
One of the most common reasons for a sharp or stabbing feeling in the groin or belly area is called round ligament pain. Several ligaments support your uterus while you are pregnant, including your round ligament. When it stretches, becomes strained, or tightens quickly, you may feel a quick jabbing. It is also possible to feel ligament spasms.

This condition is most common in the second trimester, but you can also experience its symptoms in the other two trimesters of pregnancy. Some women feel it the most when they are exercising, laughing, or sneezing. It is also possible to experience stronger symptoms when you cough or stand up too quickly. Round ligament pain is harmless to you and your baby, but it is still painful and uncomfortable. To help relieve the aches, avoid sudden movements. Heat therapy can also be helpful but talk to your doctor before applying a heating pad or taking a warm bath. Certain stretches and yoga poses can also help keep your core strong and relieve discomfort. Ask your obstetrician about the exercises that are best for you.

Relieving Aches and Pains During Pregnancy
Aches and pains are common during pregnancy, but you do not have to live in discomfort. Make the most of your time preparing for your baby by creating a safe and reliable plan for your pain relief. Each of the solutions above are a few ways to care for your body without the use of prescription medications. Consulting with your doctor ensures you are able to relieve your symptoms while best caring for your baby.

Sweet Dreams with Good Night Books

Reading to your little ones is such an important part of their development. Research shows time and time again that reading to your child not only helps your bond grow, but it helps stimulate their brain’s growth and development. There are many reasons to read to your child, and finding books that interest them will surely spark their imagination and desire to learn.

Good Night Books is a great resource for that perfect bedtime story, or snuggle with your little love any time of the day. I am so glad I partnered with them, as they are my daughter’s favorite go-to story books! Before bed, she always wants me to read, “Good Night Princesses” and “Good Night Mermaids”. I am super excited to add to her, and now my son’s, collection.

The Good Night Books Series have been around since 2005 and are written and illustrated perfectly for ages 0-5. They are printed in bright colors on high-quality board, to stand the test of time with those rough kid hands. The books I have owned for years, still look great and have withstood a LOT of love! Haha!

When browsing their website, you will find an amazing variety of books! You will find books on; animals, transportation, science, holidays, fantasy, states, cities, international titles, and so much more! There are even books to celebrate special occasions, such as a new baby. Just look at the amazing selection I picked out for my kids!

My daughter is really interested in planets and unicorns… I mean, where else can you get a broad selection of titles from one publisher?! Right here!

Reading during the first six years of life is so important for healthy brain development, so it’s paramount to invest in a good collection of books for your children. Books to stimulate their own interests and to develop new ones, which is priceless!

Our family loves Good Night Books and we know you will too! In fact, I believe these books are great learning tools for kids to learn how to read, as well. With their slight repetition…with Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Good Night phrases, it helps to build up confidence to start recognizing these phrases throughout their books.

With Good Night Books, you will not only be giving your children the brain stimulation they need, but also you will be getting the snuggles you crave from your little sweethearts. After all, they grow up so fast and you have to soak up those snuggles as much as you can! So grab a good book, cuddle close, and let the learning begin!

Connect: Find out more about Good Night Books by visiting their website. Then make sure you “like” them on Facebook and follow them on Instagram.

Founded in 2008, The White Peacock is a outreach that helps Indian women work at home and support their family through creative designing, crafting and marketing handmade items. We have 60 working members who participate in weekly meetings of fellowship and chai. We exchange work at these meetings and learn together. Participation is compulsory to be a working member. We take attendance and encourage growth as a group.

The White Peacock was founded to empower these already talented women and remains a center for equipping and inspiring them today. Our women are less of "employees" and more of entrepreneurs. They design new ideas themselves, make them by hand and bring them in for feedback. When a design works, it sticks. The more that item sells, the more the lady who designed it will make. When you purchase a Savita Purse, you are literally supporting Savita in her entrepreneur endeavors.
